One player thinks of a word and gives some kind of definition of it (it's up to them how clear or confusing they want to make that definition; the ideal is probably for it to be not quite as clear as a dictionary definition without being as confusing as a riddle, but we'll see how it goes). Other players try to guess the word, and the winner posts the next puzzle (unless they choose to forgo their turn).
First definition:
An adjective to describe someone who's in a bad situation and can't do anything about it.

A name any man could bear.
I don't know if it'll pass muster, but I'll try it. That said, I've just realized something Etaoin probably noticed when we were speaking about that potential new game: it's pretty much crosswords hints lol. Well, depending on how we play exactly. Ideally it should be fun and hard to play even without making up far-fetched definitions.

A name any man could bear. Hmmm... pseudonym? That said, I've just realized something Etaoin probably noticed when we were speaking about that potential new game: it's pretty much crosswords hints lol. I thought the same thing a bit earlier—and also that it would be quite a bit easier than the kind of crosswords she's used to.

Not bad, but nope. also that it would be quite a bit easier than the kind of crosswords she's used to. Hopefully!

Good guess, but if it were correct, it would mean my hint wasn't as precisely worded as I'd like to think it is (not that it's super precise either).

That's not a word, though. Getting desperate.

Webster lists it as a noun. I think it can be argued it's a word, but then again, what's a word anyway?
John Doe is correct.

My next hint would have been that there was a tiny bit of a trap, which indicates that some measure of guilt was felt, in my defense.
