Bulgars? Not sure that's the right name, but you know what I mean. Seeing as their name became a Christian insult, I would guess they became Christians relatively late. I must credit Clever Man for his clever guess, and the Bulgars did convert relatively late, though they were ahead of the Lithuanians by a few centuries. Wikipedia tells me the Bulgars converted in the 9th century. |
