Lucky you. I hope they at least make it worth your while... I prefer working nights. I used to have a job where I worked seven nights on, seven off, and it was bliss. Every other week was a holiday, and I could even do things during the day on working weeks, because I only worked 8.5 hours a day. I'd come home and go straight to sleep, wake around midday, do daytime things, go to the pub and compete against the early finishing teachers as we watched Fifteen to One and Countdown (yes, it was a while back), get a few more hours of sleep, then go to work at 11. Now it's a mixture of days and nights, and the shifts are 12 hours long, but at least that means I get more days off than I would working standard hours. In a five-week cycle, one week is completely free, and another is just two shifts. How many hours do you work in a week on average?

I'd have to look it up in my contract, but it's supposed to be equivalent to standard working week for those who work normal hours -- I think it's 37.5. But averages can be misleading, as four weeks are either 36 or 48 hours, one is none, and one is 24 (or sometimes 35, but it gets complicated here).

That looks like it should be a six-week cycle, but the week off happens between finishing weekday nights on Friday morning and being off until weekend nights the following week. There's the making of a puzzle in there.

it's supposed to be equivalent to standard working week for those who work normal hours -- I think it's 37.5 Depending on the exact definitions and parameters, that's just a little more than France, where full-time employees work an average of 36.9 hours, which is why it bugs me when the right insists French people are the laziest of all Europe with our 35-hour working week: they deliberately confuse the legal 35-hour workweek (that is, the threshold at which you start getting paid overtime) and the actual average workweek. Most places I've worked at had a 39-hour workweek. In my current (main) workplace, it's a bit special since I only work 24 hours a week (it's gonna change starting next week though), but the full-time employees work 37 hours. Actually, I've just looked up "average workweek UK", and it gave me 36.4 hours. So maybe by "standard working week", you meant the equivalent of our 35-hour workweek, i.e. the threshold for overtime?

Most places I've worked at had a 39-hour workweek. Hm, I'm not sure anymore. I think some of them had 37, but the place where I've worked the most had a 39-hour one at least.

Does the brand represented by him primarily sell physical objects that are typically bought for their own sake and brought back home by customers? (As opposed to services, things that are consumed on the spot, tickets for attending something, etc.)

Are those objects typically too large to be held in one hand?

I thought I'd asked whether he had a beard as well as a moustache, but I don't seem to have done. So I'll do it now.
