That's a pity.

Oh, I now see the one that remains dates from 2021. I was fooled by its relatively high number of pages (1700+). Can't imagine how many the original one had.

I don't remember. Maybe 5000 or so?!

Could have been 5-digit numbers as well ... I really can't remember.

I don't remember. Maybe 5000 or so?! Not bad. The forum that was the most important to me had a thread called "Randomness"; I've just checked and it had 2600 pages.
Incidentally, that forum isn't accessible anymore, and it died almost 10 years ago now. I still use the Wayback Machine from time to time to relive a bit of the experience. I even managed to get a snapshot once where I was in the online users list. But since internet bots don't crawl every page from a forum (or at least not at once), the WM snapshots mostly consist of broken links, so you have to deal with what's left or keep searching.

(for those who don't know and think the Wayback Machine is a fancy way to talk about a trip down memory lane, it's not. It's a site where you can input a URL from any site, living or dead, and consult older states of that site. web.archive.org/)

Wait, only about 1300 "pages" I think. It only displayed 10 posts per page, as opposed to the 20 of LD.
The point is it had 26000 messages in the most recent snapshot I've consulted.

The thread actually went unnoticed for a while.

Well, speaking of the Wayback Machine, have you tried to look for the original ET thread on it? When you click on a thread for instance, even if the current snapshot doesn't have that thread, it lets you look for any snapshot of the specific URL; one of them might work.

Ah but then if it was in a non-public sub-forum (i.e. one not accessible to visitors), it probably isn't there...

I wasn't prepared for that look:
Not that it's hugely different, but enough so that it's a bit disturbing.

Also, it'd be great if ProBoards allowed us to take a look at all the media that was ever uploaded on this forum, so we could clean it up once in a while; 200 MB isn't much.

Oddly, I've been trying to see old LatinD pages on the Wayback Machine recently, but I can't see any way of avoiding having to look at dates where most of the time the only content captured is the useless front page from back then.

That's why I tend to browse it on a thread basis, rather than going from the front page and seeing what works or not.

How does one do that? And ProBoards does allow us to manage attachments. I shall delete this image after people have seen it, because otherwise it will just be an attachment that will need to be managed at some point. Attachment Deleted
