How do you pronounce it, by the way? Nobody here seems to know whether the first vowel is A as in bad or as in bayed.

As in 'bad'. Stress on first syllable.

She married Hamish Badenoch. At a guess, he's Scottish. I don't think he's a wolf, but he is a banker. So not a wolf, but a shark.

Do any of our transpondic members have any comment to make on their 47th president? News from the coalface is better than what is mediated. Paging dantius , callaina , Gregorius Textor , marinaid and LCF optimistically in decreasing order of hope. I'm Canadian, not American, but...
I guess the only bright spot I can find in yesterday's news is that, thank God, at least he's not my president.
Other than that...my general mood is probably best expressed by

Then there's Israel/Iran. Haven't a clue what Trump will do there. He did publicly support Netanyahu and approve the Gaza bombings a few times, but I don't know what he thinks of the escalation of the conflict. Overall, I think what he means by bringing peace is that he'll let whoever wants to burn down a country or two that isn't the US have their way, and then they'll have peace.

In other news, I had a dream where I was on an ancient Roman site with one of my brothers. There were carved stones lying on the ground, in an excavated area below the level of the modern street I was walking on. The stones were partly immersed, so maybe that area was not excavated but located on a dried up riverbed. My brother was walking on the stones, barefeet, which made me laugh because I remembered that he had told me (in the world of that dream) that one day he'd like to walk barefeet on ancient Roman stones, in a "direct contact with history" kind of way, I thought.
The streets were very busy. The people there caught on to what my brother was doing and they all started to cheer. Like I said, the area with the stones was partly immersed and there was mud too, so my brother was getting dirty. At one point he reached the remains of an edifice with its four walls still standing. It kind of looked like a pool, and my brother was about to dive. The crowd was still cheering and I laughed even louder because I started thinking it could quickly become awkward, as I imagined my brother wallowing in the mud and the crowd cheering it as an act of freethinking, freedom and perhaps political militantism.

Castle guy cancelled this afternoon's work session. Good, I'll be able to finish building my brother's bed. The main build is almost over, and then it's coating time.
A bed certainly is a different kind of beast than everything I've done so far. It's kinda like a tall cupboard except it's horizontal, which comes with a different set of concerns regarding the way forces apply. It would be much easier to make them with say 6 legs instead of 4, but then it would be kind of ugly, your toes would probably pay a price sooner or later, and the extra legs might get in the way if you want to use the space under your bed as a storing area.

I trust your judgment, but I'm not willing to contribute to your war effort based solely on this video. I've seen worse!

If I ever visit France again, I think I'll adopt the pseudonym Rev. Père Minute.
