The only native anglophone writer born in Asia after 1900 who comes to mind is JG Ballard, and I shouldn't have thought any of his characters were well-known enough to use in this game. Although he did write speculative fiction.

By the way, I wasn't aware until yesterday that the author of the character I have in mind had been born in Asia. Chances are you're better informed than I was, but then again maybe you're not. So this may not be something you should focus on too much.

I mean, it even seems lileky, given the tendency of famous works to be adapted into basically every medium. But I just don't personally know of it, and if it exists I don't think it's very famous.
